About Me
Hello, I'm Erik Eastland
I am a passionate educator who has 8+ years of experience designing and implementing engaging trainings for learners of all ages. I am applying these talents in the realm of instructional design and online learning to give organizations an advantage in training their employees or clients.
Apart from my prowess in incorporating new technologies into effective instruction, I also have exemplary soft skills to seamlessly integrate into any learning and development team. I pride myself in using clear and calm communication, building on others’ ideals, and always working from a place of empathy and understanding.
My Process
Using industry standard software such as Canva, Articulate 360, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, I can create job aids, instructor led training, and digital learning content to maximize the educational efficiency of your organization. I can adapt my process to apply proven adult learning theory, such as ADDIE or SAM, to your team’s specific needs. I am also adept at developing valid and reliable assessments using a wide variety of question types that map to learning objectives. After assessments are proctored, I can track, analyze and visualize data using your organization’s learning management system.
My Journey
Before my working career I developed a passion for efficiency and educating others. Through the start of my tutoring business, I discovered my talent for chunking and sequencing complex content to boost learner understanding and retention. Additionally, I honed an instructional style based on patience and positivity. I successfully used these talents in public education, spanning many different schools and a vast array of learners. With an eye to the future and an aim to further expand on my talents, I transitioned into the learning and development field. Here, I have leveraged all of the skills from public education to design impactful learning experiences for adult education. I am excited for you to be a part of this journey with me!
